Letter to the Editor: Girard thanks LD8 Voters

Sharon Girard wants to thank all those in Legislative District 8 (LD08) who voted for her in the recent Primary Election. It is an honor to be on the ballot to represent you in the race for the Arizona Statehouse in the coming election in November.

Sharon looks forward to being a new voice for the district. Times are changing and we are no longer just a rural district. The western part of the district has many exciting opportunities for livable wage jobs but we must not forget the challenges facing our smaller towns in the eastern section of LD08.

We must prepare for the future. The next legislative session will have to deal with the multitude of problems created by the Covid-19 pandemic. Sharon's 30 years of experience practicing medicine is what is needed right now. Her experience with the analysis of public health data will allow her to craft solutions that work to solve these issues.

Sharon Girard will be the leader we need to move us forward using science and data to protect the health and welfare of our families and children. Until we get control of the pandemic our economy will stagnate and our children will fall further behind in their education.

Our district is a great place to live and start a business. Our future is bright if we have fresh new leaders willing to take on the challenges in LD08. Sharon Girard will work to expand access to healthcare, fully fund our public schools, and support the livelihoods of those in LD08 so they can reach their full potential and succeed in life.
