Leading Edge Academy Student Named National Merit Scholarship Finalist

Leading Edge Academy student, Joshua Hall was named a finalist for the National Merit Scholarship. 

Joshua is a senior at Leading Edge Academy and was chosen as one of 15,000 finalists nationwide. 

The National Merit Scholarship Corporation will choose 7,500 students out of the 15,000 to receive the scholarship.

Joshua was the Leading Edge Academy Gilbert Early College student of they year in 2020. He also participates in the early college program at Leading Edge taking college classes at Chandler-Gilbert Community College. In addition to the Early College Program Joshua also participates in Mock Trial as well as the AP Program. 

"The mission of National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC) is to recognize and honor the academically talented students of the United States. NMSC accomplishes its mission by conducting nationwide academic scholarship programs. The enduring goals of NMSC's scholarship programs are:

  • To promote a wider and deeper respect for learning in general and for exceptionally talented individuals in particular
  • To shine a spotlight on brilliant students and encourage the pursuit of academic excellence at all levels of education
  • To stimulate increased support from individuals and organizations that wish to sponsor scholarships for outstanding scholastic talent."

Leading Edge Academy is a 15 year-old network of charter schools with six locations throughout the valley, including a location in San Tan Valley, AZ, servicing over 2,000 students. Leading Edge Academy maintains its commitment to academic excellence, small class sizes, and a safe family feel. At Leading Edge Academy we believe in teaching the whole child, through academic excellence and a values-based character program to challenge our students to improve their character and enhance their relationships. We believe in establishing a strong foundation of knowledge, grade-by-grade.
